East Meets West Styled Shoot

It really is such a wonderful feeling when you work with a fun, inspiring and talented group of friendors who put everything into bringing a vision to life! The concept for this East Meets West shoot was based on bringing together the bright palettes, luxurious prints and fabrics of a traditional Indian wedding with the timeless elegance, beautiful details and etiquette of a North American celebration. Woodland Meadow Farms was the perfect location to create the main tablescape, the dessert table and a beautiful ceremony backdrop. We had way too much fun with the on-site rooster and cat and of course, there was a turkey visiting the farm that day as well! A complete list of the incredible team that made this beauty possible can be found below. The shoot was featured on Wedding Chicks last year and I'm excited to share some of my favorites with you on the blog today:

Hosting a Favorite Things Party!

Last September, I hosted my first ever Favorite Things Party! I've been seeing these pop-up everywhere and wanted to experience one for myself - so what better way to do so than to host one (am I right??)!  I had so much fun planning and preparing for it - give me a reason to throw a party and I'm all over it. Since it was in-between summer and fall, I went with a non-seasonal theme, and to keep with my recent office makeover, I chose a similar palette - after all, anything Kate Spade is always my favorite!

I created a display table with an assortment of cake stands and platters for everyone's favorite things to go on. I ended up adding more platters to accommodate all the amazing goodies! Seriously, these ladies got so creative with their items - there's some detailed pictures coming up below.

I think I'm finally beginning to learn the art of re-purposing items! Being able to add little touches from my office decor was so convenient and made for great little details at the party. These fun little coasters are some of my favorite items in my office and they fit perfectly with the party theme!

Each guest got their own shopping bag, black and white stripes with a gold bow to stick to theme of course. They also received 3 tags each to label their favorite things. I loved how creative everyone got with their favorite things - there were so many awesome goodies laid out there it was hard to choose!

Here's a closer look at some of the decor and signs - all Kate Spade inspired of course!

Thank you to all the amazing ladies who came out for my first Favorite Things Party! It was so much fun and I really hope we get to make it an annual tradition :)

My Kate-Spade Inspired, Pink, Gold, Black & White Office

It's no secret that I love all things pink! Even when I'm planning a wedding that has a completely neutral color-story or is filled with pretty hues of blue and gray, I need a little bit of pink in my creative space to keep me motivated and inspired! I've been working on sprucing up my office with colors and designs that I love and although I can't say it's completely done just yet, I love how it looks so far. I have my wonderful husband to thank for pushing me along to get it done and for his contagious enthusiasm in designing my feminine, Kate Spade-inspired workspace! He painted the room, put up with my pickiness on the right shade of white, helped with wall hangings, and cheered me on the whole way through as I painted, glued, stapled and bought everything gold that I laid my eyes on. This room came together thanks to some genius Ikea hacks that I learnt about on Pinterest (oh how I love Pinterest!) and many fabulous finds I collected over several trips to HomeGoods! I found a great fuchsia fabric at JoAnne's and we decided to repurpose some old canvas wall art that was sitting in storage. A few cans of gold spray paint, a lot of printable Etsy art and several hours of team work later, here we are. Here's a peek at my pink, gold, black and white dream office so far. I still need to find the perfect office chair, some cozy floor and window coverings, guests chairs and fill a bit more of the wall space in the room so stay tuned for a follow-up post in the near future!
